Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Sergei Boukin expressed his country’s support of Lebanon and solidarity with the Lebanese, who have just commemorated the first anniversary of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri’s martyrdom. After meeting head of the Future bloc in Parliament, MP Saad Rafic Hariri, Ambassador Boukin said his country shared Lebanon’s “deep love” for the late Premier, whom he described as a “distinguished personality.”

Ambassador Boukin told reporters in Koreitem that Russia backs Lebanese efforts to shore up the independence of their country and secure socio-economic development. He stressed that Lebanon and Russia traditionally enjoy strong relations. The Russian diplomat also welcomed the return of MP Hariri to Lebanon, and wished him success in fulfilling the goals of the Lebanese.

Later in Koreitem, MP Hariri received French Ambassador Bernard Emie.
