Head of the Future bloc in Parliament MP Saad Rafic Hariri strongly condemned the terrorist attack that wrecked a major Islamic shrine in the Iraqi city of Samarra today, describing it as a new attempt to create discord among Muslims. MP Hariri stressed that the attack also targeted the unity of the Iraqis.

Speaking to reporters, head of the Future legislative bloc said the bombing of the Samarra Golden Mosque countered religious values and civilization. He made clear that Arabs are now “betting” on solidarity among the Iraqis to face criminal intents to sow discord between Iraqis. He expressed support for the country’s political and religious leaders in their bid to rebuild Iraq and revive its Arab and Islamic status.

In his name and on behalf of the Future Movement, MP Hariri also strongly condemned the attack in telephone calls with Vice President of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan and religious figure Sayyid Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah.
