Sudan’s presidential envoy Minister Mostapha Othman Ismail conveyed to head of the future bloc in Parliament MP Saad Rafic a message from his country’s President Mr. Omar Hasan Ahmad al-Bashir, on the Arab Summit that is scheduled to take place in Khartoum next month.
Mr. Ismail, who met MP Hariri in Koreitem, said he conveyed the verbal message to MP Hariri and invited him to visit Sudan. He also told reporters that they discussed the situation in Lebanon and an upcoming national congress on internal dialogue in Parliament, which the Sudanese envoy hoped will succeed, pointing pointed out that it will convene without foreign intervention.
Earlier, MP Hariri received a delegation representing the Wheat and Cereals Cooperation in the Bekaa Valley, led by Mr. Rkan Maadarani, who said MP Hariri reaffirmed his backing for the sector and that during the meeting Mr. Hariri telephoned Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, who expressed his support for sugar beet and wheat farmers. MP Jamal Jarah and MP Ahmad Ftouh also attended the meeting.
Head of the Future bloc later met the Consular Corps in Lebanon led by Mr. Joseph Hbeis, who told reporters that the delegation offered its condolences to MP Hariri, on the occasion of the first annual commemoration of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri’s assassination, which he said was a major loss for Lebanon, the Arab world and the international community.
Head of the Future bloc had also met earlier today Cuban Ambassador Dario de Urra Torriente.
